Our History
The remarkable success of Atlantic Gulf Company (AGCO) undoubtedly stems from the insightful vision
of its founder, Moulay Mehdi Al Adlouni. A graduate in agronomy engineering from the prestigious
National School of Agriculture in Meknes (ENA). He further deepened his expertise with an MBA from
ISCAE Casablanca before delving into a master's program in agronomic science, earning a prestigious
scholarship of excellence at the University of Kansas in the 1970s.
His journey included a stint in the Middle East, amidst the region's complex socio-economic landscape,
providing him with profound insights into the Levant countries. Alongside his wife, Oum Kaltoum
Berrada, this experience inspired him to conceive an innovative idea: promoting Moroccan agricultural
products in the Gulf countries.
Despite limited financial resources, they undertook the audacious risk of shipping a box sample of fruits
packed with makeshift means. Thus, the adventure began with this cardboard box making a one-way
journey from Casablanca to Abu Dhabi, unveiling Moroccan products to the Gulf region. This daring bet
demanded relentless effort, with Moulay Mehdi spearheading client acquisition while his wife managed
administrative affairs. In 1992, Atlantic Gulf Company was born.
The exceptional quality of exported goods, rivalling European standards, swiftly propelled the company
to become Morocco's premier official exporter of fruits and vegetables to the Middle East, primarily by
airfreight, within a few short years.
Atlantic Gulf Company (AGCO) is proud to continue this legacy of excellence and innovation established
by Moulay Mehdi Al Adlouni and his wife, as we strive to further expand our horizons and uphold the
highest standards of quality and service in the industry.
